World’s Top Ten Amusement Parks
Part 1
Well, the summer holidays are almost upon us and that means parents have to spend more time with the kids. A great way of doing that is to visit a Water, Themed or an Amusement park. Better still, do all three and make the kids really happy.
Disney's Magic Kingdom
Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA
If the number of visitors is any indication, then this theme park is the most popular in the world. Some of Disney’s best rides, like the Pirates of the Caribbean can be enjoyed here. Other attractions are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. In 2014, Disney invested millions and added The Journey of the Little Mermaid and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Not to be missed is the Splash Mountain that ends in a 5-story drop splashdown.
Tokyo Disneyland
Essentially Tokyo’s Disneyland is similar to the one in Florida. Since it opened in 1983, it’s been expanded many times and now covers more than 115 acres. A popular ride here is Pooh’s Hunny Hunt which is a trackless ride and seems like magic.
Disneyland, Anaheim, California, USA
This was the first Park built by Disney and remains popular to this day. Attractions such as Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, the quaint Main Street USA were originally laid out by the great Walt Disney himself. It still retains many original attractions such as Peter Pan’s Flight. Another not to be missed ride is Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Tokyo DisneySea, Tokyo
In 2001, when it was first opened, it cost a whopping $4 billion and was the most expensive park ever built. It has Tower of Terror and Indiana Jones rides and an original Fantasmic Fireworks. Although its most popular draws are Journey to the Center of the World; Stormrider and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.
Disneyland, Paris
Disneyland Paris is one of the premier European tourist attractions. The park’s main draws are the Pirates of the Caribbean and Phantom Manor (haunted House). Two unique attractions here are Space Mountain: Mission 2 and a light and laser show held at nights called Disney Dreams.
